Event Notice from The '65km for Cystic Fibrosis' Organising Committee:

"To all our wonderful '65km for CF' participants

We are so very sad to bring you the news that we are cancelling the '65km for CF' event for 2020 - but we will be back!'
______________

We are so sorry to have to do this with an event we all love and look forward to every year (despite the pain and lack of sleep!), but we feel we must cancel the '65km for CF' scheduled for tomorrow March 14th 2020. Given the particular vulnerability of the CF community to a damaging respiratory virus like this, combined with the rapidly changing and increasing concerns about coronavirus (COVID-19), and the growing push to not have large groups congregating, we feel it would not be wise or send the right messages about the importance of safety to continue on with the event this year.

However, given that many of you have trained and raised so much money, we would encourage you to still WALK TOMORROW as far as you feel able, in your own area/community and post your photos and stories 'on our Facebook page (65km for Cystic Fibrosis). If you're comfortable communicating with your supporters, then please reassure them that all of the money raised up to now and over the next days and weeks will all still go to fund high quality CF research in Australia. We will provide updates on the total money raised once the dust has cleared.

Have a safe, peaceful weekend."

Kind Regards,
The '65km for Cystic Fibrosis' Organising Committee

Living with cystic fibrosis is no walk in the park.

Would you join us on Saturday 14, March 2020 to change that?

Please arrive at Princes Park at least 30mins before the start time of the event you will participate in. Head to the registration desk at 'Home Base' upon arrival.

‘65km for Cystic Fibrosis’ is an endurance walk around a 10.8km track in the beautiful Princes Park and Royal Park in central Melbourne.

There are many ways you can participate. Take on the challenge of walking the full 65kms yourself, or form a team to walk a total of 65kms walking together. If you want to walk individually, you can choose from a range of distances, including a 6.5km option to cater for those who want to join in, but need a shorter circuit.

The start times are:

  • 3am start for 65km
  • 6am start for 32.6km
  • 6am or 9am start for 21.7km
  • 9am start for 10.8kms and 6.5km

Using this option, you can walk nearer to home or on a different day but still raise Funds for cystic fibrosis research.

You can get involved in many ways:

We are proud to continue our tradition of confirming that 100% of proceeds from this event go directly to research or clinical improvements at Monash Partners to improve the lives of those living with cystic fibrosis.
